Getting error message QA495 for movement type 655 but not 651

Hello QM gurus,

I am trying to post a returns delivery for material with Quality Inspection type 06 in the material master.

When I use movement type 651 (which is assigned to the delivery schedule line category) it posts fine and inspection lot is created.

However when I use movement type 655 (GD returns QI) and post goods receipt I get the following error:

Change the inspection stock of material xxxxxxxxx in QM only

Message no. QA495

What config/master data should I enable to fix the problem?

I am checking the config in movement types 651 and 655 and I noticed one difference which I think is the reason.

In OMJJ for 651 the inspection lot origin is 06 whereas for 655 it is 05.

So should all the materials inspection type be changed from 06 to 05?

Is that a solution?

If I have to keep the inspection type as 06 then what is the solution?

06 = inspection for return delivery before goods movement

05 = inspection for stock after goods movement

If you want that returned stock goes to QI stock, use movement type 655 & inspection type 05, not 06.

If you activate both inspection type, then 2 inspection lot will be generated. (first at delivery, second at GR)

I agree ,its due to customization only,

In short if you still want to use 06 Inspection type then you have to use 651 mvt type .

Actiavting 05 instead of 06 is workaround for getting stock in QI( eventually you have to use 655 mvt for this).

Hence system shows such error.

If you activate 08 Inspection type, then this problem will be solved.
