Hi Friends ,
I am new to SAP QM . We are having a simple scenario for which I need some help :
1. For a incoming raw material , quality people collects multiple samples . The number of samples are decided on the basis of qty received .
Qty Recived No of Samples
1-100 litres 3
100-400 litres 5
>400 litres 8
This material is having 3 MIC's . Now I want :
1. To record results for each of the sample
2. To track which characterstic was tested from which sample no .
Can you please help me to execute this scenario . Please explain step by step with some details , as I am new to SAP QM .
Regards
Sandeep Jha already answered correctly.
1. Sampling scheme
- Valuation parameters = Attributive insp.
- Sampling tables = insp. severities
- Inspection severity = 4 (whatever no problem)
Lot size Sample size c1 d1
100 3 0 1
400 5 0 1
10000000000 8 0 1
2. Assign sampling scheme to sampling procedure
- Sampling type = Use sampling scheme
3. Control indicators of inspection characteristic (to record for each of the sample)
- Results confirmation = Single result
4. To track sample no. you can use 'inspection description' field on results recording screen.

Hi DoWook ,
Thanks a ton for your reply . I am done with the things . Onl doubt I am having is while creating SAmpling Procedure , what is the use of options under Multiple Samples :
1. No multiple sample
2 Independent Multiple Sample
3. dep multiple sample .
And if we can determine the no of samples using Samling Scheme and Sampling PRocedure then what is the use of Sample Drawing Procedure ?
Regards
1. Multiple sample in sampling procedure
It is similiar with concept of inspection point.
This means several inspection for same characteristic and same sample size.
The difference is operation level(insp. point) and characteristic level(multi. sample).
But I usually don't recommend multiple sample functionality because of confusion.
2. Sample drawing procedure
It is related with physical sample.
For example.. In chemical company the quality department should keep physical sample for each batch.
And they check change of quality or something.
For this requirement.. You can assign sample drawing procedure into insp. plan of GR insp. from production.
Then system can generate physical sample and user can input results for each phisical sample. (SAP uses insp. point functionality.)

I Dowook ,
I have tried assigning a sample drawing procedure(SDP) to a IP header .
In SDP I have mentioned followoing details :
I have assigned this in IP's header with inspection point 200 .
When a lot is generated , task list is getting assigned but sample size is not getting calculated due
to which the lot is still in CRTD status .
Actually my scenario is :
Primary samples are take on the basis of no of cotainers received :
No of cotainers No of Samples
1-3 3
4-8 4
9-16 5
17-25 6
>25 root(n) + 1; where n is no of containers
after taking sample they mix the above primary samples and do RR against the single composite sample . How system can show that these may primary samples should be taken and then RR against sigle composite sample should be available .
It would be great if you help me in this .
Regards
Can you please help .

HI
Create sampling scheme using tcode QDP1
Create sampling procedure by using tcode QDV1 & then assign the sampling scheme in that relevant sampling procedure.
Assign the sampling procedure opposite to each MIC in insp plan using tcode QP01.
When Insp lot received , release the lot with created insp plan
Do the result recorrding - QE01
Do the UD: QA11

HI
Do the above process you will able to understand the process easily.
Its depend on the lot size & sample which you have mentioned while creating sampling scheme.
Qty Recived No of Samples
1-100 litres 3
100-400 litres 5
>400 litres 8
Means if lot size is 100 L then sample size will be 3
If lot size is 400 L then sample size will be 5
If lot size is more than 400 L then sample size will be 8.
System automatically deducted the sample size based on the qty
Hi Sandeep ,
Can you please mention the exact values and also as far as I know , to determine the number of samples on the basis of lot size Sample drawing Procedure should be defined which is no where mentioned in reply .
Please mention the correct details and if you know the correct answer please help by mentioning the figures that I should enter . Please dont mention with some generic procedure .
Regards
Can anybody clearlly specify the values or what needs to be done in following case :
For a incoming raw material , quality people collects multiple samples . The number of samples are decided on the basis of qty received .
Qty Recived No of Samples collected
1-100 litres 3
100-400 litres 5
>400 litres 8
The samples collected above are mixed to make a single composite sample which is analysed and results are recorded for this only .For eg if 1-100 ltres 3 samples were takes then they will mix to make a single composite sample which is sent for analysis .
This material is having 3 MIC's . Now I want :
1. To record results for each of the sample
2. To track which characterstic was tested from which sample no .
Can you please help me to execute this scenario . Please explain step by step with some details , as I am new to SAP QM .
