Project cycle for EHP upgrade

Dear all,

I would like to know a general information about ecc6.0 ehp upgrade:

1. How long will it take to upgrade from ecc6 to ecc6 ehp6 or from ecc6 ehp4 to ecc6 ehp6?

2. How many consultants should be involved? Not only basis guys but also functional consultants?

EHP upgrade is most likely to be a week long operation.

The purpose of upgrading the system to the latest EHP is to have the new functionality and you do that when the business needs it.

The upgrade includes Technical and Functional parts.

The upgrade is done by a BASIS specialist in co-operation with the functional/application team.

An ABAP'ers assistance is required to SPDD / SPAU phase.

The standard practice of the upgrade is to perform on a Sandbox system (refreshed with a copy of production) first for the functional team to test the latest functionality that comes with the EHP you have selected.

The whole upgrade can be divided into two parts - online and offline phase.

You need to have a clearly defined planning and agreement with the business for the successful completion of this job.

I suggest you to get the EHP installation/upgrade guide to understand the complete process and also to know the pre-requisites to perform this activity.

Hi B A,

1. The upgrade time will be equal to the installation time and depends on the data.

2. All the consultants (FICO, SD, PP etc.) will be required from all the modules integrated depends on the enterprise.
