Dear Sir,
We are manufacturing Industrial Machinery as per the Customer Order and have ETO scenario . The customer order receipt to delivery time is approx 7 months and all engineering activities like Design/BOM/Material Codes/Routing etc are very much customer order specific .
Our objective for using PPDS :
We need to use PPDS for finite scheduling of the MRP generated planned/production orders for the semi-finish material for all the running projects . There are almost 70-80 nos projects running simultaneously and the objective is to have an optimum finite scheduling across all planned orders so that delay of end product delivery is minimized .
Our existing approach :
We are using PS system and PP system also . In our existing ERP setup , We are creating universal multilevel BOM for the Finish Product and attach this FERT with an activity in the Project under a WBS . This generate a requirement for the FERT . We subsequently run MRP using MD51 and this generate numerous planned orders and Purchase requisitions .
We then define an integration model between ERP and APO , and generated planned orders/ Purchase Requisition( PRs ) gets ciffed to APO . We are not defining any PDS .
Our Requirement :
We request the forum members to kindly suggest us the ideal approach to be followed for using PPDS with ERP in our business scenario , so that our organization is able to get the full benefit of PPDS along with ERP and our objective also gets delivered in an efficient and reliable way .
With regards
B Mittal
Hi,
consider using MRP-based DS:
there is also an RDS out.
