BOM not exploding?

Former Member

Dear All,

I am giving PIR of FG and run MRP for it by MD02 then check the results, it has been found that two SF material's not planned also they are not seen in planning result.

I have checked in Material Master for both SF materials, it found ok. Then I have checked BOM of FG in CS03 then I have seen that for both the SF materials line item in column "Change No.", "0001A" mentioned.

Hence I have run MRP for FG material by keeping planning mode '2' but even though BOM not exploded. Also checked stock of both SF materials in MMBE, no stock found.

Kindly suggest Why BOM not exploded?

Thanks,

Naresh

Dear Naresh,

This issue had been discussed many times in this forum.I would suggest you to use the search

option to check the threads related to this topic.

1.Check the requirement date for the semi-finished product and the valid from date of the

corresponding material's BOM.

2.Check the status of the BOM.

3.Check if the BOM selection indicator is set as 2/3 in the MRP4 view of the corresponding material's

material master and if so ensure the same is maintained.

4.Check if the lot size defined matches the requirement date.

5.Check the MRP type of the material.

Dear All,

The issue gets solved.

Some of you mentioned about valid from date for component Item
on which I was not concentrating because I feel that it comes before sales
order creation date. But my FG In house production days are 45 and I am using
Backward scheduling so in this case when I am placing order on today with
requirement date of next 10 days then after MRP run system goes back and
propose release date which is back dated and these 2 components are out of this
date's scope otherwise all other components comes under the scope of FG.

Overall analysis is that it's a date game.

How do I come to know? - When I was not getting anything in
parameters then while continuously digging, I feel that I should change the
requirement date in SO and I was put it 4 months forward.

Then after MRP run BOM exploded.

Thanks to All,

I am closing this discussion.

Thanks,

Naresh

Hi,

Check what is the usage given. It should be 1"Production" and check the status also it should be 01 "Active". Also check whether the component material master has deletion flag, BOM creation date should be before the BOM explosion date in PIRr.

Check and revert back.

Yes all is ok but still BOM not explode.

When I have run MRP of FG material then two of it's SF materials not planned or no BOM exploded for them.

For these SF materials, if separately MRP run then their BOM exploded. Also these both the SF are component of other FG's and when MRP run for these FG's then these SF get planned and BOM exploded.

Why this happens only in case of one FG, means both the SF materials not exploded?

Thanks,

Naresh

Dear Naresh,

Please check the following points:

1. MRP type is PD or some thing related to Consumption based MRP

2. MRP4 settings for BOM selection method

3. Engineering relevancy is activated in BOM ?

4. Bulk materials are activated in BOM ?

5. BOM Usage = 1 ?

6. BOM status = 1 ?

7. Create the BOM little bit in older days instead of current dates ( like 1 week past date)

8. Whether stocks are available for that materials

9. Processing key you are running is NETCH or something different in MD02

10. Select the Planning Delete and create the Planning data

11. Check whether actual demand is generated for the header material

12. Check whether requirements are appearing in MD04 separately for that semi finished products

13. Delete the demand and create the new demand in MD61/ MD81 and run the MRP.

14. Check the Exceptions generated after MRP run, that will guide us to resolve the issue.

15. Check the Routing and usage and its status

16. Try to Increase the demand to the more qty for final product and run the MRP, check the explosion for SF components

17. Check the Planning strategy is suitable for that materials

18.Whether you are using any Production versions

19. Give Proper data in MD02 screen

20.Once you check the complete explosion in CS03/ CS11 /CS12

21. Check the BOM Validity

22.Check if you have maintained any ' mixed mrp indicator ' in material master

23. Any lot sizes issue is there for that material.

24. Once again delete / create the materials with proper data and maintain master data in past one week dates and create the demand with more qty  and run the MRP & Check the planned orders for the semi finished materials

Please check and revert back !!

Thanks

Hello

Check if the following note is implemented on your system:

1562786 - MRP run does not explode some BOM components

The information from note 50186 may also be relevant.
