Fully Qualified Domain Name

Hi All

Quick check, if I need to configure fully qualified domain name for sap , part of the setup, do I need to change the domain sapdc.local to the fully qualified domain name .

Correct me if I am wrong.Thanks

Hi,

If it is abap system, then please update instance and default profile parameter to fqn name. If it is java i would suggest it to keep it as it is.

In your computer name you mentioned sapdc.local so changing this may give problems to you,it is better  to keep like that only if it is a test system.

Dear Patrick,

Yes you will have to change the domain from sapdc.local to <your company>.com and enter the  parameter icm/host_name_ful=<hostname>.<domain> in your instance profile.

If the system is not registered in the DNS you will have to put the entry C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file of the server.
