How to address latency issues in a global landscape

Former Member

Hi,

Mobile users are usually located globally, whereas SUP and the backend servers are centralized. How can we address issues with network latency when users in Asia are trying to connect to servers in USA?

Can SAP AccAD be used to optimize the network?

Thanks!

I guess AccAD won't help as AccAD improves latency by caching. That is, in case SAP isn't offering AccAD that understands SUP.

On the other side, why? SUP is mainly used for offline access to SAP data via a mobile device. The users only will "suffer" from low latency when syncing. If it now takes 1 Minute or 1.5 Minutes should not make a big difference.

In case of HWC apps, the main application is already saved on the device, only the data to be shown / saved is transmitted. This should't be much and therefor not take a lot of time.

Or is your latency so bad? You may use a local reverse proxy and see if the LAN connection between this proxy and your SUP backend is faster than your wireless network.
