New Account Request Email Notification to Portal

Former Member

Hello All,

We have currently upgraded to GRC 10 SP9 stack and setting up the environment. We would like to know if there is any possibility that an enmail notfication sent to the Manager for approval can have the portal link to the iView that will directly launch the submitted Request?

We are integrating all the GRC applications in SAP Portal. Currently the Managers can go the work Inbox and then click on the line item and then open the Request for Approval. Is there a possibility that we can have a link directly going to the Request itself so when the managers clikc from the email it takes them directly to the request and not the work inbox?

We saw in the MSMP template that there is a variable APPROVE_REJECT_LINK which when used inside Custom Notification Messages automatically generates the link to the Request. But for some reason it asks for the GRC System Password. We have more than 20000 managers in our organization and not everyone will be having passwords for the GRC system. Is there any way we can confiure to ask for the Global LDAP Password instead of the GRC System?

Also, Is it feasible to somehow launch the Approval Requests directly from email - portal - Request?

Thanks,

Nagarajan.

yes you can have LDAP password. you would need basis help for that.

I believe SSO will help you on this.

Hi Prasant,

we were using LDAP for authentication in our environment.

My question is that if we maintain the link  as%APPROVE_REJECT_LINK%  in email notification so this will help us to open the request in NWBC directly to approve /Reject it.Similarly how do we maintain the link in email notification to open the request in portal so that approver can approve/reject.

portal authentication is on iviews right ? so link would be different one.

Thanks and Regards,

Please perform the following steps in order to auto forward to GRC Application after login into Portal using SSO.

Sync AD users in GRC ABAP (password doesn't matter)
    Setup ABAP to trust Portal
Setup the Portal for authentication with Active Directory.
Create a URL iView in portal pointing to GRC application URL:

    http://<grc_server:port>/nwbc

    OR

    http://<grc_server:port>/nwbc/SAP_GRAC_NWBC

If the PCD path of the iView is: pcd:portal_content/sandbox/grc_nwbc_url

Construct the URL for the user like this:

    http://<portal_server:port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtmode/preview/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fsa...nwbc_url?sap-config-mode=true

Get user to click on this URL, the server will prompt the portal Login screen, and after login it will go straight to the URL configured in the iView.

Note: Please make sure the subdomain that is used to access Portal URL above and the NWBC URL is same.

This is required as SAP SSO ticket is set for the domain, which is how to achieve SSO here :

For example: NWBC url:  http://   abapxxx.mysubdomain.mydomain.com

    Portal url: http://portalxxx.mysubdomain.mydomain.com.
