Hi all
I have the following problem.
Our sales manager sugest to use two EAN13 barcodes for the same product code (MARA-MATNR).
The first EAN13 code indicates that the product was produced in our country (789xxxxxxxxxx) and the second EAN13 code indicates that the product was imported from China.
Both will be sold in the same country (Brazil).
This is a common procedure and acepted by GS1?
Thanks
Luiz
Hi Luiz,
The GS1 GTIN allocation rules are defined here: http://www.gs1.org/docs/idkeys/GS1_GTIN_Allocation_Rules.pdf
Based on what you've described, I don't think this is best practice. I suggest you read through the material - if you can't find an answer, you should be able to contact your local GS1 office for help - their primary purpose is to help folks like you adopt their standards.
Cheers,
Steve
