Storage location MRP in APO without MRP area

Hi,

ECC provides the option of MRP in specific storage location without activating MRP area.Can we have such functionality in APO without activating MRP area in ECC. Or can we get atleast a different location type(similar to loc type 1007)  for each storage location.

Hi Sourabh,

There are several storage locations (situated in different geographical locations) under a plant / location . We will have different transportation zones maintained in storage locations and intend to use these transportation zones in GATP scheduling . There is a disconnect in GATP scheduling in sales order and STO as in another thread http://scn.sap.com/thread/3278281.

Know that transportation zone in storage locations will be considered if we have MRP area , but do not want to activate MRP area as that seems to quite a big change.

Any idea whether location type ' Stock transfer point' / 'Transportation zone' will help in this case or how these can be created.

The scenario is still not clear, please explain the process and expectations step by step.

Also, where you maintain transportation zone in your storage locations.

What do you want to achieve with this point not clear, please explain this as well.

Hi Sourabh,

As stated in previous mails , receiving storage locations (under the same plant) are in different geographical locations and the transit time to these storage locations from issuing plant is different . Hence duration in TL can not be considered as that is between the issuing plant and receiving storage locations . We intend to consider different transit duration from same issuing plant to different storage locations of receiving plant.

Given the constraints and requirments, I do not know if there is an option to choose in particular for stock transfer between storage locations of a plant....in fact I would like to know if you or someone else has found.

Also, as you mentioned, it would be practical to call each of those storage locations as MRP area in ECC and get them CIF to APO.

Hi Sandeep,

Yes, MRP area seem to the option .. But this activation of MRP area is at client level and thinking many times any negative impact on other plants (not requiring MRP area) before doing that .
