how does R/3 Sales Org , R/3 Plant play a role here ?
They may or may not play a role. These characteristics represent ways of organizing data. Key figure data organized by Sales Org or by Plant or by both may be critical to achieve your business results, or it may be totally irrelevant and be ignored. The business users at a minimum should tell you the data they want, and you need to get from them how they want it organized. Furthermore, you may use your own business experience to advise them methods that are commonly used to organize DP, and advantages/disadvantages of various DP solutions in supporting their business models.
