PI 7.3 Alert Configuration

Hello All,

We recently upgraded to PI 7.3 and we had a few questions on the best approaches for configuring alerting for PI. We don't want our alerts to be too generic or too specific. Can you please recommend us how the alerting has been implemented @ your company / clients if possible ?

Also should we go by business systems, Party ,business process & should we suppress multiple alerts for the same recipients ?

I appreciate your inputs.

Thanks,

Kiran

Hi Kiran,

If all your interfaces in PI landscape are Business Process specific, you can go for Alerts for each processes. But its always better if you have maintained Alerts for each interfaces. This approach is better for daily basis Production issue analysis. Please find the 2 blogs for Content Based alerts in PI 7.3 without ABAP stack.

Hello,

Ideally it all depends upon the requirements. So suppose if ur client is having multiple business process and they want that alerts should be classified depending upon the process and send to different user groups then u go for multiple alerts for diff. BP, but sometime there is no specific need then may be u can go for one generic alert for all the interafces.

Thanks

Hello Kiran,

Can you let me know if you are using PI 7.3 Dual stack or single stack?
