Issue while changing functional area in WBS

Hi,

I have bellow issue while changing functional are in WBS.

Transaction data exists; note long text

Message no. FH600

Diagnosis

You want to change the functional area in the master data even though there are postings for this functional area.

System Response

If you change the functional area, all future postings will be made with the new functional area. This has no effect on postings made prior to the change of the functional area. A change of the functional area is thus not possible.

Procedure

If a change to the functional area is absolutely necessary, this can be completed by following the instructions of SAPnet database note 115840.

Note

A change of the functional area can lead to inconsistencies when reversing documents. If documents are reversed after the functional area has been changed, in some cases, the reversal document may be posted with the new functional area.

Procedure for System Administration

This message appears in the standard system as an error message.

You can change the message type of this system message. To do so, in Customizing choose Controlling -> General Controlling -> Change Message Control. The work area and message number can be found in the technical documentation.

Note

This message appears when the functional area is changed in various master records, such as cost center, internal order, and G/L account. If you change the message type of this message independent of the user name or turn it off, this change to the message is valid in all programs that use this message.
SAP thus recommends

1. 1. You change the message type of this message only for specific users
2. 2. Reset the message type to "E", that is error, after changing the functional area

I don't want to chagne message type. Please give us any other solution.

Hi Venakt,

Check the Note: 325555 " Note 325555 - Change functional area WBS: no message FH600 "

Symptom:

For a WBS element which has movement data, you change the functional  area, for example on the WBS element overview or in Transaction CJ12 (Processing a single WBS element).

Unlike during the same change on the WBS detail screen, here, the system does not display message FH600.

Cause and prerequisites

The problem is caused by a program error.

Solution

Implement the attached advance correction.
