Screen Variant not working for IW51

Created a screen variant for the IW51 screen to default in some fields in the "Tasks" subscreen for fields "Code Group" and "Task code", using the SHD0 transaction.

This screen variant will only be for Notification Type 'X1'.

When I execute the IW51 transaction and enter in 'X1' then hit enter, on the next screen (Notification header stuff), the default data is not coming into the screen.

Is there something I need to do to activate the screen variant before using it?

I can't seem to be able to find the right answer searching this board or on Google.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hi Scott,

Check that whether you have activated the screen variant or not?

It should be active to be effective in the required screen

I don't see an "Activation" button or option on the SHD0 screen.

Sorry, i don't knon much about screen variants.  This is the first one I have ever tried to create.

Hi Scott,

In SHD0 transaction there are 3 tabs-Screen variant, Transaction Variant and Standard Variant.

In Standard Variant Tab you will find the icon for activation and deactivation.

I had to create a Transaction Variant also and assign the Screen Variant, then activate it.

It works now.
