j2ee engine is not starting

Hello SAPGurus,

I have SOLMAN 4.0 SP15, when I try to access the portal of the solman http://qerossm:50000/index.html it doesnt open. The reason is j2ee engine is not running. Windows Server 2003 is the operating system where when I try to start the SMD agent it turns out green for some time and then again stops there is some framework is issue which doesnt start. In addition to SAPLOCALHOSTFULL and icm/host_name_full check your hosts file if it contains entry for qerossm.com.

Roman, I changed as you said but still the portal is not working. It is to inform you that the SMDagent is not working. Does this affect in any sense.

abhishek, can you write down the developer trace file of the node which is down (ie Dispatcher or Server0).

Also attached that dev_disp or dev_server0 log.

SK, server0 is up but dispatcher and sdm is not up. You can also check http://scn.sap.com/thread/3280097 which is the other thread of mine. Please help as because these two even the portal is not working for the solman system.

SK, I have downloaded the file but while trying to execute it it says the current machine type is not valid for this java file.I read note Note 723909 - Java VM settings for J2EE 6.40/7.0 it says

Since 1st of October, 2012, SAP's own JDK (SAP JVM 4) is the only supported JDK for SAP J2EE Engine 6.40/7.0. JDKs from other vendors are not supported any more. See SAP note 1495160 for information about SAP JVM 4 and the replacement strategy for the partner JDKs 1.4.2.

Please suggest if you got any point from this note.

it it says the current machine type is not valid for this java file-- > this means the downloaded file mismatch the architecture of your system.

download the correct file.

stop sap system & sap related services.

install the new file.

take a reboot of your server.

start the sap system again.

In ur host why u mentioned icm/host_name_full    qerossm .

First read the note correctly that parameter should be in profiles of ur SAP not in host file.

If ur abap stack is running add this parameter using rz10 to ur instance profile.then try to start JAVA.

2. As per the note 773830 the value provided for parameter SAPLOCALHOSTFULL is qerossm and for

    icm/host_name_full is qerossm.com
