Incorrect RFC connection parameters against BW Source Systems after BDLS

I am trying to setup a new QA environment (as we are in a project to move from Oracle DBs to DB2) and have an issue after BDLS step.

We have created 3 new systems: BIQCLNT500 (our BW system - recent new copy of Live BW Client BIPCLNT500), POQCLNT50 (our APO system - recent new copy of live APO Client POPCLNT500), PRPCLNT500 (our ECC system - a recent copy of our Live ECC system PRDCLNT500)

I am setting up the source systems in BW side (BIQ) first.

I have changed BIPCLNT500 to BIQCLNT500 usign BDLS and there were no errors.

I have just changed PRDCLNT500 to PRPCLNT500 and there were no errors...BUT.......after running BDLS I went into RSA1 -> Source Systems and can see PRPCLNT500 but when I right click "Check" it is trying to make connection with PRDCLNT500. I confirmed the Connection Parameters on PRPCLNT500 Source System are still pointing to PRDCLNT500 when I expected it to be changed to PRPCLNT500.

Metadata etc has all replicated OK as far as I can see.

I have repeated the process for POPCLNT500 to POQCLNT500 on the BW side, and I get the same issue. BDLS has come back with no issues, but the Source System in RSA1 still shows RFC connection it is using is POPCLNT500.

I had been assured by our BASIS Team that Logical Systems and RFCs were setup but it appears that the PRP RFC was setup incorrectly (to be "PRP CLNT500" rather than "PRPCLNT500"), and POQCLNT500 wasn't setup at all!!!! Argh!!!

This has now been corrected, but how do I now fix the BW source system settings?

I cannot see a way of changing the RFC connection within BW Source System in RSA1, how do I do this?

Cheers

Simon

Hi,

You may look at those RFC defined in WE20/WE21, change to the desired target accordingly.

Actually this specific issue I resolved by changing values in Table RSLOGSYSDEST.

However after lots of trial and error checking and restoring both the myself and the
target source systems I now get a different error when checking BIQCLNT500 to
POQCLNT50 which states “Result of the Destination check: Destination points to
the wrong BW system  RSAR 375”

Any ideas on what is causing this as I can’t find anything?

As far as I can see all is fine in sm59, we20 and we21 on both sides.

I wondered if it was an issue in table rsbasidoc, I can see my connection in this
table for “Src. System” = POQCLNT500, “DWH System” = BIQCLNT500 showing as INA,
which I guess is because I can’t activate the Source system I guess. What I do
not understand in this table is what the 3 release fields mean? I can see
Receiver release is the basis release on the “DWH System”, but what are the
other 2 release fields, as neither seem to relate to the basis release of the
“Src. System”
