Suresh,

APO is one module of SCM Server.  Refer to the Master Guide, which gives a high level overview of the installation process

http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700001186142011E

More detail is found in the Installation Guide, which is more geared to technical users

Generic topics found in the Service Marketplace here

FYI, APO comes with a built-in BW, which is required for DP and SNP.  This BW can also be used to a limited extent for more traditional BW tasks as well.

As mentioned by expert Ankit, APO does not have to be integrated with ECC; although such integration is delivered and supported by SAP as a standard feature.

Best regards,

Hi Lee,

First of all it is possible to use APO as a stand alone planning tool with BAPI data integration, but as APO is having complex and advanced planning tools, so its good to get it integrated with a BW system as these planning algorithms and tools require a lot of data and analysis. As far as ECC system is concerned its depending on ur business requirements. APO is capable of doing all types of planning but it will be good if it can be connected with a ECC system as APO workload gets reduced by this.

For the APO installation process, it will be gud if u can provide with some examples of ur business requirements, then it will be easy for me to help u with ur problem.

Thanks,

Ankit Singhal
