HI All,
what is the exact difference between SAP PS and PLM PS?
PLM is SAP Product(other than traditional ERP) which caters to requirements coming from R&D and engineering department.
SAP PLM helps to manage the following items
1) New Product Development: This contains Project Portfolio Management and Project Systems
2) Engineering Change Management
3) Integration of ERP with CAD softwares which enables automatic update and synchronization of material master, BOM and engineering drawings
4) It also enables early access to engineering design activity for ERP users
5) Audit Management and Quality Management
6) Supports APQP and PPAP processes required in automobile industries.
7) DMS integrated with CAD system as well as ERP system
I hope now it is pretty clear that where SAP PS stands in whole PLM system.

Mahendra

Hi,
Considering an example from pure PS perspective, consider PLM as the Project Definition and PS as one of the WBS .
PS comes under PLM along with other submodules.
