Guys,
I have a question about how SD make shipping plan considering holiday calendar.
For a customer with shipping route 2 days lead time, when we set a Customer Requested Delivery Date on Monday (and prior Saturday and Sunday are holiday), SAP makes a shipping plan to start goods issue on Thursday. Could you let me know how SAP calculate goods issue date "Thursday" for this case?
I think there are two way of thinking on Holiday consideration in shipping. I think (1) is more natural than (2), but SAP seems like (2). Could you let me know your thought about how SAP works?
(1) We issue goods on working day. But shipping itself is being performed during holiday.
Fri ---- Goods Issue
Sat ---- In transit (Day 1)
Sun ---- In transit (Day 2)
Mon ---- Customer Request Date (Day 3)
*: lead time is 2 days but we cannot issue goods on Sat (holiday), we will do it one day before.
(2) We issue goods on working day. And shipping also is NOT being performed during holiday.
Thurs ---- Goods Issue
Fri ---- In transit (Day 1)
Sat ---- Holiday (No movement on plan)
Sun ---- Holiday (No movement on plan)
Mon ---- Customer Request Date (Day 2)

Uzawa
Uzawa,
I will assume you are using transportation/delivery scheduling for your SD documents.
Have you established a valid factory calendars for your shipping points and routes?
