Batchs in production orders

Dear all,

We have customized an automatic batch determination. Batches are displayed during operation confirmations (CO11N), but not in the component overview of the production order (CO03).

Is there something I should customize?

Dear,

Batch determination in production order or confirmation depend upon the setting define for batch entry in material master.

If you go to MRP 2 view of material master there you will have field batch enter, if you use 3 then system will determine the batches while order release depend upon the setting of batch search COB1.

1	Manual batch determination required upon release of order
2	Batch not required in prod./process order; confirmation reqd
3	Automatic batch determination upon release of order

Dear Rupesh,

I have defined in the material master MRP2 as "3", this seems to be the first step for my requirement.

For the time being my COB1 table is blank.

I have created a production but couldn't release it, error message:

"You must enter the batch of material ....", as if I should fill it manually.

May be I have to set the batch search in COB1. Can you please guide me further how to define this table.

Hi Suresh,

As per above steps you need to activate Auto batch relaease in production schedule profile.

Hi,

For component batch determination, you need to do following things

Define the search strategy for the order type in below path,

IMG-> Logistics general-> Batch management-> Batch determination  and batch check-> batch search procedure allocation and check activation-> assign search procedure to production order and activate check

Steps for  batch search strategy:

Create Condition Tables

Create Access Sequences

Create Strategy Types

Batch Search procedure definition

Batch Search procedure allocation and check activation

Define Selection classes

Define sort rules

Maintain Batch Allocation Strategy Number Ranges

Batch management check should be activated for the component in material master

Maintain the condition record in COB1 with suitable strategy type.
