Report execution task error

Hi experts,

got a question on the 'Report execution tasks' in SAP Sourcing.

Let's assume Sourcing creates a report on an FTP server every night of the different vendors that were modified. If suddenly this FTP server is down, will the original report will remain in some kind of queue or will it be overwritten by a newer version?

Since there is a daemon responsible for this (query server), I assume the daemon will keep the old reports in memory and create them when the FTP server is available again.

Thanks for you help,

Bram

Hi Bram,

If I’m not mistaken, the report execution task can either send the report to a mail recipient or write the output of the report to a specified directory. I don’t believe FTP is supported for report execution task. Having said that, let’s say the directory permissions are not setup correctly so the task failed. The next time the scheduled task runs, the report will get executed and current data at the time of execution will be extracted.  Note, there is an Append Timestamp checkbox and if checked there won’t be an issue with overwritten files.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Vikram
