4.0b migration

Hi Members,

I would like to know details about the migration, infact homogenous migration of SAP 4.0 B system, I am starting with R3load method. Let me know I can start this activity with latest SAPInst (java) or use same Installer file R3S.

I wanted to start this activity with latest sap tools R3Setup available on SAPInst, or I should use same old Installer R3S version.

Pls provide detailed information.

Hi Amit,

For 4.0B migration with R3load method, R3load from your Extended Kernel CD (40B_EXT). You can not use the SAPinst in 40B migration.

Although R3SETUP / SAPINST are R3 Independent Kernel Release, you can use SAPINST from kernel release 6.20/6.40 onwards.

Before going for migration make sure that you have latest verions for the R3LDCTL, R3LOAD & R3SZCHK. take care of this files, are platform & database specific.

Do not use the different version of any file at the time of Export and Import.
