Hi,

It is mandatory to give permission to Button activities? Just confirmed if I don’t give access to PR500 (Inn User Gp Maintenance under Permissions Tab)  then also I can access the START Button (PR500) from standard POD (v5.2). Please suggest? Thanks

Hi,

To execute any activity, the corresponding permission should be granted to a user. In ME 6.0, PR500 cannot be executed in POD without the permission. If that's not the case for 5.2, it is a bug.

The fact that permissions were not enforced in 5.2 is more of a design decison than a bug.  This was changed in 6.0.  5.2 and earlier did not enforce permissions on POD activities in most cases.  This was done intentionaly to reduce the configuration effort.

In ME 6.0, we decided to begin enforcing this since there are so many sensitive actions available in the POD now.

So, it is not a bug in 5.2 and is now enforced in ME 6.0+.
