Two Translation for in same language of a smartform

Dear All,

Currently a particular smartform is being rolled out for different company codes.

We have a requirement where in a smartform layout is being used in multiple companay code. For two different company codes they require print in french language. But for french translations for the two company codes are different.

Eg. Vat Registration Number(EN) = Numéro de TVA( French 1 ) = NINEA( French 2 ).

We will be using custom table to map which company code will call the translation of which languauge.( We need custom table because the laguage of printing is different from the what assiged to company code T001 , T005)

eg. cc1 -> FR , CC2 ->DE and so on.

Now two things are in my mind to meet the requirement

1) use some thrid langauge say TH which is not used for the layout for maintaining translation of 2nd french translation. My question will this approach work and will french characters mainted in thai lagauge be printed properly? As per my understanding the character will be printed properly as long as we are using the correct device for printing and not depedent on the languge we are printing.

2) Create additional text module for each existing text module and pouplate the text module dynamically. ( But this will require a complete change of the layout from top to bottom and will have an impace on the exist company code.

Kindly suggest.

Hi Gaurav,

The association with Thai language will not work, nor with any other language. You informed that you will use the table for the translation based on the company code. In this you will take the translation and then put the label of the fields. You can have the same approach for all other company codes and then over write this with the values in TVARVC table. This is the open table and all can be managed by the transaction STVARVC. Here you need to put in parameters. The naming convention used in 'NAME' field of TVARVC can be

TRANS_<Unique id>_<field name>_<BUKRS>_<SPRAS>

The value will contain the transaltion text. Using this you take take it in internal table (where name like 'TRANS_<UNIQUE ID>%', which will get all the details. Then you can manupulate using the field name, company code and language, and pass the value to that field label. This will over write the translation which has been set before.
