Dear Gurus,
we are migrating from a system which allows leading zeros in bar-code numbering and we import the same into sap IS-Retail we are having a problem, as sap does not recognize leading zeros and truncates the same.
the problem we are facing is the bar-code in the legacy and sap is different. we would like to have sap also recognize leading zeros.
is there any customization setting to enable this........
Thanks,
rakesh.........

Hi Rakesh,
Key here is how you have defined the number ranges for EAN/UPCs.
Example
If you enter ABCD, the system will interpret your entry as ABCD______________. However, if you want the system to interpret your entry as right-justified, you must enter 00000000000000ABCD.

Hi raja,
Thanks for your reply.
All the bar-codes are right-justified in the system.
Our exact problem is, when we enter bar-code system deletes the leading zeros.
Example:
Original barcode: 01234567
how it gets updated in data base: 1234567.
we want system to consider leading zeros and update the same as entered on screen.
Thanks,
