Hi,
Currently we are on EP 6.0 /Netweaver 2004 Oracle/AIX platform, since our system is quite critical and we cannot afford any downtime. Our backup strategy is daily oracle online backup and weekly file system (db file system not included) backup.
I'd like to know whether this approach is OK not not when problems occur.
Appeciate your advice.
Stanley
Hi Stanley,
I copied wrong url.
We have referred this for designing our backup strategy.

Hi Stanley,
Online backup should be followed by archive log backup also for complete recovery. If the archive is generated in a greater volume then better to schedule archive backup 2 times a day.

Thank you, Vinayak.
We do have consistent oracle online backup every day.
My problem is: since Jave Engine write data to both File System and DB, but we don't do FS and DB backup at the same time, so it might create problem when we do the restoring. For example, can we use today's online DB backup and last weekends' file system backup (suppose there's no manual change on FS side) together to restore my EP system?
And what is the best practice in our case since we cannot shut down our EP system for the backup?
Thanks
Stanley
