Hi,

'mt' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Check, if mt.exe is present among the kernel executables and that it is "unblocked" in the file properties.

>> mt: opening '/dev/mt0': Access is denied.

Once upon the time I faced with the same issue and it is related by antivirus software. It could be the same reason to have access denied error while accessing to the tape device.

Good to know about this antivirus thing, never heard of that before.

Another thing might be, that if you had multiple tapes connected in between, that you got a different path now, like /dev/mt1. You should check the hardware path in the device manager

You should be able to test MT from the command line like

mt -f /dev/mt0 status

mt -f /dev/mt0 rewind

mt -f /dev/mt0 offline

I also have not seen this ASPI message for a while.

There was a note about this, that it can be ignored.

As already said, try "mt" alone first as described.

May be you get better messages than "RC=1"

And check in the Hardware manager what the device path for the tape is.

You should be able to find something like \\.\tape0 or \\.\tape1

Ah, and:

BR0051I BRBACKUP 7.20 (1)

Patchlevel 1 of BRTOOLS 7.20 is also not very cool ...
