How to move excess inventory to a vendor's storage location

The warehouse is currently at capacity, we have a vendor that normally does re-works and re-packs for us. they have space to move our excess inventory to their location.

Normally we send product there by the ME2o transaction and create an outbound delivery, and this inventory goes to At Vendor location.

However we want to send product there (not for re-packs) to free up space in our warehouse and that will eventually need to be brought back to our warehosue to be sold.

What is the best way to move this inventory to the vendor with SAP?  Would like this inventory to be seen in APO otherwise when its shipped out it will drive more production despite having the inventory in a different location.

Hi,

If it is just for storing the materials in vendor location and not for any other business  transaction, then just create a new storage location (for vendor space), extend all the materials to this new storage location using MMSC and do a stock transfer (sloc to sloc- 311 movement).
