Dear all,
I need to calculate the sizing parameter for new SAP systems.
I gone thorugh the one http://service.sap.com/quicksizing .
Apart from online Quick sizer online portal,
Is there any macro excel sheet exists in SAP/other to calculte the SAP sizing?
Thanks

Hi Thirumalai,
The various hardware suppliers also produce basic spec's for sales proposals via their respective SAP Competency Centres. Once you have a basic number of SAPS from the quick sizer you need to consider how much RAM is required per CPU to generate such a SAPS. For example, HP require 8GB RAM per CPU core for SAPS to be relevant. And you also need to bear in mind that a 4-core CPU delivers more usable power than an 8-core CPU (relevant for X86 Intel/AMD hardware). For large systems, you need to engage with the relevant hardware suppliers to get a valid sizing. It's always wise to talk to the hardware suppliers - particularly their SAP sizing team - who can help you with the sizing and don't charge for the service.

Graham

Hi Thiru,
there is also an offline Quick Sizer questionnaire available. It can be found on www.service.sap.com/sizing .Apart from that there are also various sizing guidelines available depending on the solution you want to size.
Bbest regards,
Sebastian

Hi Thiru,
Could you please tell us what kind of sizing you are doing?
1. If it is initial sizing then the recommended tool would be Online Quick Sizer.
2. If it is re-sizing then the recommended tool would be SAP Monitors (DB02, ST06, ST03n, DBACOCKPIT)
3. If it is delta sizing (addition of new solutions like CRM or SCM to existing production) then the recommended tool would be SAP Monitors to calculate any additional load. SAP Quick Sizer, Expert Sizing or sizing template to get additional SAPS required for new solution.
Also consult with your Hardware vendor for sizing and check the "Hardware/Software Requirement" section of Installation/Upgrade Guide.

Rajkumar
