Managed System configuration - Extractors Setup error

Greetings,

Solution Manager 7.1 SP7. I am looking for help on how to track down this problem.

I have finished the Basic configuration and System preparation steps successfully. All remote agents are deployed and connected. The problem is when I run the Managed system configuration wizard for any of my systems, including the Solution Manager system itself, everything is green except for the "Extractors Setup" step in the "Configure Automatically" step. The same error occurs for all systems whether they are ABAP or JAVA. The log message is:

An exception with the type CX_SY_DYN_CALL_PARAM_NOT_FOUND occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause (1F09B73915F6B645E10000000A11447B)

Details:

An exception with the type CX_SY_DYN_CALL_PARAM_NOT_FOUND occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause (1F09B73915F6B645E10000000A11447B)

When I check the Extractor Framework, I see all the extractors for the Solution Manager system that are all green but none for the other managed systems.

I have another Solution Manager in our landscape and it does not have this problem even though all patches are the same.

I am looking for help on where to look to begin troubleshooting this properly. Specific questions that I have are:

1) What exactly is this step doing  (Extractors setup)? Is it only setting up on the SolMan system or does it touch the managed system?

2) Where is the log physically located that the wizard displays (as shown above)?

3) I had quite a few infocubes that had to be manually activated in RSA1, could this be related?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated,

Hi,

In step Managed system configurations steps, all the configurations specific to the satellite system

is performed on Solution manager system not on the managed system. It is the setting on solman system.

Regarding your issue can you please check:

1.If you have completely installed the latest version of Central Note for your solution manager system.

2.LMDB configurations are complete and the sync jobs are completed as well.

3.Please check the joblog of the job :  SMSETUP: AGS_BC_AUTO_CONF

Hope it helps.

Sachin

Hi Sachin,

Thank you for the clarification that the error is somewhere on the Solution Manager system. Regarding your helpful questions:

1.If you have completely installed the latest version of Central Note for your solution manager system. Yes, all manual and automatic notes and steps have been completed from OSS 1734341 (and previous versions of support stacks)

2.LMDB configurations are complete and the sync jobs are completed as well.

I am also suspicious of the LMDB for this problem and will examine the logs carefully and report back if I find anything strange.

3.Please check the joblog of the job :  SMSETUP: AGS_BC_AUTO_CONF.

I do not see this job. When the Configure automatically step is run, the job created is called SMSETUP: AGS_MS_SETUP. Its log shows that it spawns individual steps for each setup step including a message "Execute activity: Extractors Setup for system DB1~ABAP". There are no indications of errors.

If the "Extractors Setup" step is run again by itself (from the Managed System config wizard), the SM37 job is named: "SMSETUP: DIAG_MNGD_EXTRACTORS". Its job log is:

Job started

Step 001 started (program RAGS_SISE_ACTIVITY_JOB, variant &0000000000127, user ID xxxxx

Imported p_act_id:DIAG_MNGD_EXTRACTORS

Imported p_sp:BCDA107990232FD055768B9515604AD6D6A60BD4

Extractors Setup started

DIAG_MNGD_EXTRACTORS for system DB1~ABAP ended

Execute activity:  for system DB1~ABAP

Job finished

Again, no errors shown, yet the Managed System Configuration immediately returns the error log shown in my first message. I would like to know where this log is coming from.

Regards, Raymond
