Need inputs on MDS Logs

Hi Experts,

We are using SAP MDM 7.1 SP 07. Can you please proviede inputs on following MDS logs.

• Caught BadConnection exception "OS network layer error occurred during Recv()" while handing an incoming message. <Connection [0x000000012915AC30], Socket [UNINITIALIZED], Remote IP: 10.240.201.77, Remote Port: 4801, Local Port: 59950, connection source [], Client IP 10.240.201.77., Client version unknown; connection is currently in Dead state> 

• WorkflowPostOffice Initialization. Could not retrieve mail server information.

We faced the same issue and got this link with RCA.

Did a repo restart with update indices which resolved this issue.

It looks like you are trying to send email notification using a configured workflow but due to incorrect mail-server information it got failed. Correct me if my understanding is wrong or explain your scenario by which you are getting this error.

To make changes in mail-server information, check following parameters value in MDS.ini file:

• Mail Server: This parameter contains IP address or domain name of the mail server which the MDM Workflow feature uses to send notification emails e.g. Mail Server=12.35.264.7

• Mail SMTP Timeout: This parameter contains number of seconds the SimpleMail client waits for a response from the mail server before aborting a mail task. The repository is locked during this period. Default is 1.

Not doing any specific activitey. but, this has been observed in MDS Logs as a Trace Error as below

Did you perform any SAP MDM 7.1 service pack upgrade? If yes, then the below explanation might help you.

I found one SAP Note explanation in below external link, which explained the same error (which you are facing), its cause and solution, but when I searched the same SAP Note on Service Market place, I did not find it as it does not exist.

This might be the case that you got that trace error. Hope, it would help you.
