Hi,
Our scenario is that we have two SAP servers operating on Windows 2003. One server is having
ERP ECC6.0. Other one is having SAP PI 7.10 SP6.
These servers would be getting upgraded to Windows 2008.
So we wanted to know the impact on the SAP Application and its database
because of this OS Upgrade? Do we need to upgrade SAP Application too?
or the same version of ERP and PI is supported for Windows 2008?
Could you please let us know the details what all things that needs to
be done for SAP application before and/or after the upgrade?
Secondly, Will SAP application work which is currently using Physical
servers and after being migrated to virtual environement?
If yes, what needs to be done from SAP pespective and from hardware
perspective?
What kind of Configuration is required for SAP (For both ERP ECC6.0 and
SAP PI 7.10 SP6) to migrate to Virtual environment in terms of disk
space, memory, CPU etc.
If no, Could you please provide detail explaination for the same?
Thanks & regards,
Shilpa
Hi Shilpa,
Please use PAM to check compatibility of application with new hardware.
yes, windows 2008 support ECC6 without issues but yo may need to upgrade kernel or database If required. for that i need exact DB version which are being used by your system currently.
Virtualization can be performed with the help of P2V process but please be informed that system performance can be degraded in this situation so please plan very well.
