Requirement Type in Consignment Sales

Hi ,

Consignment Sales : I have noticed the following behavior of the system while determining Requirement type for  consignment transactions.

In case of Consignment fill-up , Consignment pick-up and Consignment Returns, requirement type  (KSV) got determined based on MRP group maintained in Material master record.However, Only in case of Consignment issue, requirement type (041 ) got determined based on Item category for the same material but not based on MRP group.

I’m just wondering that as per standard system behavior is it not supposed to follow the following search  criteria while determining Requirement type.

1 ) Strategy group in MRP3 in MMR.

2) MRP group in MRP1 in MMR

3) Item Category & MRP type in MMR

4) Item category

If system determined Requirement type based on Rule no.2  ( MRP group ) for Consignment fill-up , Consignment pick-up and Consignment returns, Is it not supposed to get the same requirement type for consignment issue as well ?

Please suggest.

Hi Mathews,

                  Hope Requirement type will be Determined mainly on the Requirement Class.
