BPM Threshold values - 7.1 SP05

Hello Experts,

I have implemented BPM for Sales Business process.

I created a monitoring object for sales document create which is having 4 threshold values & it works fine by giving the correct alert.

But the same way when I create another monitoring for incomplete sales docs. this is having only threshold values of 3 & 4 (monitoring object list) as an input and the alert is always wrong.

My understanding is monitoring object are classified into 2 categories based on threshold values

1. with 4 Values (Threshold value 1, 2,3 & 4)

2. with 2 Values (Threshold value 3 & 4)

All monitoring objects created with 4 values is working well.

All objects created with 2 values is giving a wrong alert.

Hope I am clear on explaining the issue well.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Regards,

Praveen

Hi Rayapudi

Here is some general guide.

Most of throught put key figure offers 4 threshold  (upper and lower threshold)
Most of Open & Overdue key figure offers 2 threshold (Yellow, Red)

For example, # of sales doc created (This is through put key figure).
By using this key figure you can check 2 types of issue.

(1)Due to interface error or some job error, sales document is not generated at all(0).
In this case, if you define the lower threshold (Red, if less/equal = 1 & Yellow if less/ equal 5)
then you get red alert. Because there is no order created(0).

(2)In another case, due to incorrect interface data, or master setting, too many orders
are created. Let's say, in your company you normally have 1000-2000 document. But
in some day you got 100000 orders, due to some incorrect reason.

In that case, if you define upper threshold (Yellow, if more than = 5000, Red, if more than = 8000)
then you get red alert since you have 100000.

And in case of open & overdue key figrue, in most case, you only got 2 threshold (upper threshold).
Because in most of the case, these key figure checks some problem situation (Or should not be too high).

So if too many orders are detected, this shows some problem situation.

So in case of incomplete sales documents, you have 2 upper threshold.
If you have 500 incomplete sales doc, and you define both threshold like following,
(Threshold yellow 300, and threshold for Red 800), then you get yellow alert.
Because 500 is higher than 300, but lower than 800.

What you see is something different ?

Hi Praveen

Sales Doc Order type is special one. As far as I know, it is only the case.

Due to the conversion exit, even you specify OR in the screen, it is stored as TA.

In case of BPMon, if you specify as OR, data collection program search order with OR.

But actually it is recognized as TA in DB.

So for Standard Sales Doc type, using F4 help is recommended.

In this case, if you choose OR from value help, I think it automatically convert TA in BPMon setup screen.

It is bit tricky one.

Best Regards
