How does one do a 2.1 to 3.0 upgrade while moving from 7.1 BW system to 7.3 EHP1 SP4?

Does the use of SUM, SAINT or JSPM tool to deploy it matter?

Any tips are welcomed.

Hi,

As of SPM 3.0 there are new component and below are the details.
SPM Components
ABAP
- POASBC 100_730 SP1
- OPMFND 300_730 SP0
- ANAXSA 300_730 SP0
JAVA
- POASBC-BUINW 100 SP1
- OPMSHARED 100 SP0
- SSAUI 300 SP

1563216 - Spend Performance Management 3.0: Release Information Note
for more details.

All of these components can be applied with SUM, otherwise the Java will need to use JSPM

and the ABAP can use SAINT.

Regards,

Aidan

Hello, I have the exact same issue and have put in a message to SAP but no fix as of yet.  What I have found is that if you run MOPZ for target release 7.30 you get the files needed for the upgrade from 2.1 to 3.0 where if I run MOPZ from 7.1 to 7.31 you do not..  I added the 7.31 files from "software downloads" but unfortunately that didn't work but at least I know it's something in SAP's court.

No matter what I've tried the error is "No POASBC component".  I would have installed that component, or subcomponent, but it's only available as of 7.20 and we are on 7.10 so that won't work.

I will update this thread when I have some answers but we are stuck and cannot go further as I'm sure others have had the same issue.

Hello Michael

SPM 3.0 which introduces the POASBC component is only supported on:

SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or

SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.3

Sorry - but at least that explains the "No POASBC component" error.

Check the Product Availability Matrix for more details:
