What are BABI's? (in relation to BAPI's)

Hello eveyone

I'm going through some tender returns regarding a software upgrade (for a specialist area) that will have an SAP link to our FI-AR/FI-AP and MM modules- and that the upgraded software package will be able to upload data into SAP. A vendor has asked the following question:

<i>"What BABI functions are used?"</i>

<u>Have BABI's got anything to do with the "RFGen SAP Integration Suite", or has the vendor just typed BABI instead of BAPI by mistake?</u> :s

All opinions, suggestions and ideas welcome.

Kind Regards,

Gavin

10 forun points for Maurice Sens!!!

BABI's have something to do with the RFgen Integration Suite. From what I have managed to find out, this 3rd party software tool is like a drag an drop GUI that uses BABI's (something within the program) to help configure and link to the BAPI's in SAP - and they use this method to do data transfer/upload into SAP.

I am still not 100% on this - but I think this answers part of my own query.

Kind Regards,

Gavin

Could be, but when I read http://www.rfgen.com/cs_sap_Integration.asp , it just seems to me that the word BABI occurs there as a typo.

quote :

Development of SAP enabled applications is
accomplished through the use of a system that
embeds SAP BABIs directly into the data collection process

But now I'm really interested, I hope someone can clarify this.

Do "SAP BABI's" exist?

Dries Horions ,

I didn't get my opinion from the website as the site does not seem to clarify things at all. I was speaking to a consultant (who works with the company who submitted a tendor bid to us) who uses the suite when doing data transfers from obscure 3rd party software packages into SAP.

I would also like clarification on your point too. It is one thing not knowing something - but to know the wrong thing is even worse

Kind Regards,

Gavin

As far as I know there are BAPI's and BADI's, but I have never heard of BABI's.
