What does external requirement mean during MRP run?
Some research on internet say sales order , manual reservation etc are considered as exertnal requirement during MRP run?
why manual reservation for a particular material is considered as external requirement and to include this we need to configure the same in MRP type? Then by default what all are considered as requirement during MRP run?
Plese let me know the difference.

Hi,
This is not a general classification of MRP. I think you came across with this definition in reorder point planning help of SAP. Reorder point planning basically does not take requirements into account and operate on stock level and reorder point. SAP extends this logic by taking customer requirements and manual reservations into account which they name as external requirements here. I guess naming serves for distinguishing these requirements, which are created by the user by manuel intervention, from the dependent requirements and order reservations that are somehow created by the system.
Regards.
