Dear all,
Does SAP support SAP XI application server high availability configuration in a ACTIVE/ACTIVE scenario with Windows 2003?
I've two servers and I want "Active" both to balance requests.
Anyone could help me?
Thanks
Kind regards
Antony

Hi Antony (Roberto?),
It's not possible, as each SAP CI needs a dedicated SAPMNT share (pointing to its own shared disk). But this is not possible with MSCS. You would have a conflict for the case that both CIs would eventually run on the same node.
For details see SAP Note 112266.
Load balancing is provided at the application layer, not at the database access layer. Also I'm not sure if this was ever meant that way to distribute the database!
Best Regards,
Matt

Hi,
In terms of switchover groups, SAP recommends:
-- ASCS and JSCS in one switchover group.
-- Database in one switchover group.
Application servers are not put into switchover groups as they are not considered single points of failure.
There are other mechanisms to acheive load balancing, such as the Web Dispatcher, hardware load balancers, etc. that are supported.
Best Regards,
Matt
