SAP WM:- inbound delivery not created automatically for Purchase orders

Dear Friends,

Our client is facing below problem in Wm:-

Our client has several orders arriving from XXXX plants with an

issue : the inbound delivery must be automatically created in SAP R3

, however it is not the case for the following orders (and

maybe others). For those orders client had to manually create the

inbound delivery : 

45001xxxxx

45001xxxxx

45001xxxxx ....and etc...

The receiving warehouses are therefore unable the receive those shipments.

client is suspecting there is an issue between BASIS(Legacy system) and SAP because the inbound delivery is created in SAP when the
shipment is expedited in Legacy system(BASIS)
Please provide us better solution to fix the issue.Thanks in advance.

Hi Shivakumar,

There are 2 different scenarios.

1) External PO-> In this scenario, if the Inbound delivery is getting created automatically. There should be some technical object existing which does this work. Probably as Jinoy said, could be via Inbound idocs.

2) Stock transport order: In this case, there is an SAP note(Note#: 591860), which once implemented will make sure the Inbound delivery is created automatically when the Outbound delivery for the STO is PGI'ed. It is controlled using table ZSTO_TVLMZ

Can you please check which scenario are you using.

Following could be the reasons for Inbound delivery not getting created

1) Check the Item category in the Material master. And please ensure, if item category determination configuration exists for (material master item category+Inbound delivery type). If its not available, then the technical object wouldn't be able to create the Inbound delivery.

2) As Jinoy said, Confirmation control key plays an important role. Check the POs for which u faced issues. if they have confirmation control key or not.

Dear Shivakumar ,

Below point for inbound delivery not created in SAP when transaction triggered from legacy

Kindly check inbound IDOC to SAP in WE05 and analyze what is the problem , also check for confirmation control key in Purchase order is relevant for inbound delivery creation .

What's is the error message you are getting while goods receipt for inbound delivery which is created manually .

Please send screen shot of error message in the IDOC , Error while posting GR.
