feasiblity for report through SPC

My requirement is to configure SPC. now after configuring SPC user wants a monitering report.

Scope-How will the report work?

Well the report should generate a notification indication like certain materials(for exacmple material A's critical parameter (internal diameter measurement) was checked on 10.04.2012. Its next scheduled date is after 6 months i.e 10.10.2012. Please guide me from where to start. Please consider that i will map the SPC somehow, but what is to be done after that.?
