CTM Planning Parameter

Hi Guys,

Any one has the idea of CTM planning parameter "CTM_ENGINE " and the value1" nMaxUpdates" and value2 is 1.

If you know about any OSS note , pl let me know about the same for this parameter.

Hi Thamizh,

There is usually very little information about CTM parameters.  The parameter CTM_ENGINE is described in SAP Note 1383835.

Thanks for the reply, however the mentioned note speak about BPO_CHNAGE value not about the nmaxupdate.

As I said, finding data on CTM parameters is difficult.

I can't give you any details but from a customer message:

"planning parameter (CTM_ENGINE, nMaxUpdates, 1).

This parameter speeds up the runtime of the CTM engine

at the expense of the 'quality' of the solution.

In your case 'quality' means the number of orders

which are created for this demand.

In general I recommend not to use this planning parameter

at all, unless performance issues occur for a profile."

You need to ask SAP for any more information.  Usually information like this is given to a customer as a workaround to a specific problem.  I can't say what the parameter will do to your CTM runs or the results.  As always, test, test, test.
