Hello!
We have a SAP ERP 6.0 system with Support package 10.
Because of the current Support Package stack is 22, we would like to implement 12 Support Packages in one SPAM queue.
Question
What is the downtime for the implementation of 12 Support Package in one SPAM queue?
Thank you!
Hi Alex,
It depends to the hardware resources. I recommend you to choose downtime-minimized strategy to import support packages.
Please check the document, below;

At the first step, import latest SPAM upgrade. It is recommended to import support packages in the one queue. To be sure to put all the packages in the one queue, check the note, below;

Hello Alex,
You ca go all 12 level of SPS in one go but it may take longer time of downtime and it all depends on memory and Parallel processers per R3trans you keep at Parallel Import in SPAM Settings.
I suggest to use SUM Tool as it minimises the downtime.
Thanks and Regards

Hello Alex,
It is not possible to calculate it. You can perform the SPS update on a sandbox system (should be same in all aspects to the system where you are planning to apply the SPS) to get an idea for the downtime.
Yes, It should be possible to apply the all SPS in one go. However applying all the SPS in one go will
also increse the downtime due to more number of packages. If you have a small downtime window then you can split this task into small parts. Means you can first apply from SPS11 to SPS14....then from SPS14 to SPS18....and so on.......You can change it according to you.
If you would like to apply all the SPS in one go, I will prefer to go with the SUM tool as it minimises the
downtime.

Gaurav
