How to calculate the available Capacity

Dear Gurus,

can any body tell me how to calculate available capacity for work centre if data is:

Start time :                          07:00:00 Hr

Finish time :                        15:00:00 Hr

Length of break :                1:00

Capacity Utilization:             80 %

Overload :                             110%

From above information can i calculate available capacity for work center ?

If yes then How?

Is no. of individual capacity required for that?

Kindly tell me the formula.

With Regards

Nitin

Dear Nitin,

The system calculates the operating time as:

Operating time = (Working time - Break time) x Capacity utilization rate/100%

The available capacity is then:

Available capacity = Operating time x number of individual capacities

Operating Time = (8-1)*80/100 = 5.6 Hours

Available Capacity = 5.6*1 = 5.6 Hours(Assuming the no of individual capacity = 1).

Dear,

For No. of indiv. cap.  =  1  Standard Available Capacity will be  5.60 HR,

Hi  Rupesh,

            Thanks for replying .

Can you tell me is there  any effect of overload in calculation of available capacity.

If I take overload 130% , what system will show the available capacity in above scenario.

Regards

Nitin

Dear Nitin,

Overload is not used for calculating the available capacity.

Overload

Entry you use to control the percentage by which the load may exceed available capacity.

Use

Overload is used in finite scheduling. You can use it to specify, for example, that work continues during a break if capacity requirements are not covered by the available capacity.

Dependencies

If you have entered a percentage for the overload, it is also taken into account in the availability check for capacity. For example, if there is an overload of 10%, work centers with a capacity load of more than 110% are overloaded.

Dear,

Overload will not play ant part  there in standard available capacity of work center.

It will be useful for finite scheduling of orders.

If you have entered a percentage for the overload as 130 % it is also taken into account in the availability check for capacity. For example, if there is an overload of 10%, work centers with a capacity load of more than 130% are overloaded. You will have overload message it it is above 130%.
