Hello ,
We are running MaxDB 7.9 database as a LiveCache Instance.
The instance LCP was correctly running and reachable from SCM (trsnaction LC10) and from Database Studio.
The hardware server had unfortunatly some issues(cluster packages disabled), we were able afterwards to restart all the SAP systems but not the MaxDB Instance.
I am new to MaxDB Database, but it looks like the database instance is incorrectly running and therefore refuses any new connection (LC10,Studio, or dbmcli)

I tried to read the file sdbgloballistener_xxxxxx.prt, but I couldn't , I tried the the command protconv, but It didn't work
And yes, I had a look at this link but that file is not listed here
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=36372799
I tried to check the different logs but I could not find what is going wrong.
There aren't any more log generated in the RUNDIRECTORY since the
time of the crash (Nov 3 9h00) :
-rw-rw---- 1 sdb sdba 713116 Nov 2 18:31 dbm.prt
drwxrwx--- 30 sdb sdba 1024 Nov 3 00:00 analyzer
-rw-rw-rw- 1 sdb sdba 10817129 Nov 3 09:46 KnlMsg
And here is the output of the command
/sapdb/programs/bin/protconv -d LCP

It seems that the datbase did not restart during the crash, I could not see any change of status.
I checked for any actcivity at the database level, but there is nothing :
cd /sapdb/programs/bin
$ ./x_cons LCP show active 10
$ ./x_cons LCO SHOW ALL
$ ./x_cons LCP SHOW STATE
$ ./x_cons LCP SHOW VERSIONS
$ ./x_cons LCP SHOW SLEEP
$ ./x_cons LCP SHOW CONNECTIONS
I have killed all processes trunning under user sdb, and restarted the global listener, it did not help.
I have absolutely no idea of what is going wrong.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Solved. ( I hate it when when I search for a problem on SCN and find that a discussion has been Solved without providing the solution)
Here is the solution provided by SAP Support :
1) stop x_server (command x_server stop)
2) stop all dbmsrv processes
3) in directory /var/lib/sdb/dbm/ipc
find files <SID>.dbm.shi and <SID>.dbm.shm, and rename them , they
4)now start x_server and check the issue
