Hello Experts,
We are trying to configure the subcontracting scenario for our business model. We have PDS in place and created PIR at subcontracting location assigned a production version to it. Having done this setting, PDS is available at subcontractor location. We are OK until this step. We are kind of sourcing components from third party suppliers and send to subcontractor for repackaging. That means diffrent components are being procured from respective suppliers. Just to depict the scenario for your understanding, see below illustration.
Material Source
X (Header) A (subcontractor)
Y (Compnent) B ( Supplier)
Z (component) C (Supplier)
Material Y+Z goes to subcontractor to build the complete BOM.
But the problem here is, when we run the multilevel hueristic run, all the above materials picking up only single source that is X "subcontractor" which is wrong. No component demand generated at suppllier location, only dependent demand subcontracting is generated.Heuritsic should pick appropriate source for each component. Although external procurement relationship of standard category maintained for each component the planning run picks up subcontrator as source. What could be the reasn for this weird phenomenon, are we missing something? is it a config issue??
I have gone thorugh the SAP help many a times, please suggest some workable solutions rather than suggesting some help documentation. Many of you must have configured this scenario in the past , those of you had worked on the similar model please advice us on the configuration steps that we missed here.
Your inputs are really appreciated.
Lakshmi.
You need to create T Lanes manually so that dependent demand flows to the suppliers.
