Storage section change for storage bins

Hi,

Currently in our production system, we have only one storage section created for all storage types and all storage bins(more than 1000 in number) are assigned to this storage section.

Now clients has a requirement that each floor should act as a storgae section and all bins on that particular floor should be reassigned to these storage sections.

SO I think i can just create new storage sections and assign it to respective storage bins through in LS02N tcode BDC program. It wount have any issue on open documents like TR and TOs. Open TOs will still be completed with old storage sections.

Please advise if I am missing anything here?

Dear Manoj ,

You can run your program to update storage bins pertaining to each level with  new sections.

Does that solve your query .

Hi Manoj,

During the putaway, the system will always looks the current storage section assigned for the bin and it will place in that section only unless you define the storage section search.

So, you cannot confirm the open TR's or TO's with old sections.
