SPP 4.50 installation - Database Hostname

Hi all,

I'm currently installing SPP4.50 in Windows Server 2008 R2 using MS SQL database.

When the Application Server (Vignette Collaboration), it seems to only accept a default instance only. Our organisation has a central database management policy where all databases servers are created as named instances.

Does anyone know if I can actually install the application server using a named instance of SQL DB (ie, <server>\<instance>)?

The funny thing is that when you enter a named instance, the Test Connection function returns as successful. But it fails when you click on Next, giving you an error message "The database hostname entered is invalid".

Thank you.

Clement

Hi Clement,

As far as I know, the following configuration files need to be updated with the new domain
name

<InstallPath>/Collaboration/conf/startup.props
<InstallPath>/Collaboration/collab.props
<InstallPath>/Collaboration/WWW/Python/web.config
<InstallPath>/Collaboration/WWW/script/common.js
<InstallPath>/Collaboration/WWW/uPerformWS/RWD.uPerform.ServerConf
iguration.DLL.Config
<InstallPath>/Collaboration/jkconnect/conf/workers.properties

You can perform a search for the existing name and replace it with the
new one everywhere it exists.  After modifying the files, you will need
to restart the Services in order for the changes to take affect.

Please indicate if this answer was useful to you.

Regards,

Matthew
