Hi experts,
I have a new notebook (Win 7/64 bit).
At my old one I had a link in the Easy Access menu (Web address or path) to start a Telnet session directly.
The address is
telnet:\\xxxxxxx.net
This does not work anymore. I already have installed the Telnet client...it's not working.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Michael
hi michael,
on windows 7 you must activate the telnet programm.
to activate telnet, do this:
go to: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features
and then click on Turn Windows features on or off,
-> now, you see a new window opens, then you scroll down to telnet-client and activate it.
test the telnet program!

I think the problem is something different.
When I try to execute the telnet.exe (C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\telnet.exe) with the execute method from class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES, SAP can't find the file.
I think the problem is that it has to be run in administator mode...but I'm not sure.
Maybe there's a solution 🙂
Hi Michael,
normaly the telnet-client is a feature under windows 7, you can run it under your user account.
maybe test it as admin.
wich version of sapgui/version/patch do you use on your laptop?
maybe: look under SAP GUI Configuration / Security / Security Settings
for som security settings.
