BKI0455E: License file D:\oracle\SMD\112\database\agent.lic does not exist.

Our environment is Oracle 11.2.0.2 on Windows x86_64

After the kernel upgrade form 701 to 720, backup started failing.

Our system team updated the TSM agent to resolve that issue

Now I am getting the following error when I run backup using brtools

BKI0455E: License file D:\oracle\SMD\112\database\agent.lic does not exist.

Anyone know where to get this license?

I have asked our system admin to look for this file as well from TSM side.

Thought I would ask here also

Thanks

agent.lic is part of DP for SAP. If you can't find this file, try to reinstall DP for SAP.

Actually my original message is misleading

1. right after SAP kernel upgrade, backups failed with following error

BKI9009W: The following products are not compatible: ESD_DataMover (6.1.0.0) and ESD_Prole (6.2.1.0).

BKI2008E: Unable to connect to ProLE.

2. i asked system team to update the TSM agent to match brtools. but hit with following error.

BKI0457E: License file D:\oracle\SMD\112\database\agent.lic contains invalid data/checksum.

So in any case looks like I have to ask the system team to contact IBM to get this license file correct?

TDP for SAP sees files from different versions 6.1.0.0 and 6.2.1.0. Please uninstall and then install again TDP for SAP.

Check your dsm.sys and dsm.opt files. For more information see installation and configuration guides for TDP for SAP and Backup-Archive Client. I hope you correctly installed and configured Backup-Archive Client.

Hi

Please check whether your dsm.sys and dsm.opt file exists and are reachable. Also they should point towards the correct TSM node.

From your command prompt as root user , try this command : dsmc

This should tell you if your TSM connection is fine or not

Thanks

Actually here is what happened

Kernel upgrade should not affect backup

For us it did. Here is the reason. We updated ECC kernel a while back. Then we wanted to update other system since 701 kernel is becoming out of maintenance from SAP. We copied the ECC kernel directory NTAMD64 directory and put it in Solution Manager 7.0.

TSM backup software has two binaries (backint.exe and backfm.exe) were different versions in ECC and Solman. So that is why the license checksum failed.

BKI0457E: License file D:\oracle\SMD\112\database\agent.lic contains invalid data/checksum.

Once we copied the backint.exe and backfm.exe from solman backed up kernel directory and replace to the current kernel directory of solman, the problem is gone
