failure: CreateService (0 x 431)

Hello SAPgurus,

I am trying to install SAProuter and completed with creation of PSE certificate. I tried to install the SAProuter at the OS with the command

ntscmgr install saprouter -b <path>\saprouter.exe -p "service -r -W

60000 -R <path>\saprouttab -K ^p:<your_distinguished_name>^"

Note:- Following note 525751

It is to note that the SAProuter service was already present in the RegistryEditor but the note said to delete that, I havent deleted that and tried to fire the above command and faced that error. Please help me out to clear the following doubts:-

1. Shall I delete the SAProuter service from Regedit and then fire the command

2. Will something backlash if I delete the SAProuter

You need to delete service first as described in note 525751. Error 0x431 - The specified service already exists in database.

Hello Roman,

I was ablee to create the service. But now I am not able to start the saprouter from control panel->services. It throws the error 14401. Please suggest.

hi Abhishek,

First take  the backup of this service and then you can remove with below command.

ntscmgr remove ServiceName

Please check for more info...
